Are Anti-Wrinkle Injections Safe?

March 16, 2017

The process of ageing can be alarming, so it’s no surprise that many of us would rather undergo a few simple beauty treatments to maintain youthful, beautiful skin. That doesn’t mean that we’re leaping at the chance to go under the knife, though. Fortunately, there are several non-surgical options now available that can rejuvenate your skin and leave you feeling young again, without taking risks with your health or bank balance.

Here at The Laser Clinic, we offer medical cosmetic injections to fight wrinkles and plump up your skin. The treatment involves injecting dermal fillers into problem areas, smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles while subtly softening and plumping your facial skin. The results can be nothing short of incredible – you’ll look instantly younger, with minimal side effects or down time afterwards.

For many people considering anti-wrinkle injections as a solution for their ageing skin, the prospect of injecting a substance into the skin may seem daunting. Rest assured, these dermal filler injections are well researched, derived from safe, high-quality ingredients, and extremely effective. You won’t need to take any time off from work after having anti-wrinkle injection treatments, and any tenderness or discomfort should dissipate quickly after the procedure.

There are a few minor risks worth taking into consideration when exploring the option of anti-wrinkle filler injections. There is a slight risk of infection when you undergo any medical procedure involving injections, but this risk is extremely small. Clients occasionally experience some bruising or redness around the injection site, but these usually fade within a few days and won’t cause any other medical problems. These side effects are also rare, and not something that should cause you excessive concern.

In order to avoid any complications after your anti-wrinkle dermal filler injections, there are certain steps you should follow and things you should avoid:

  • Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours after your treatment
  • Avoid sun exposure and any extreme heat or light until any swelling or redness has gone down
  • Try not to interfere with the treated area with excessive touching
  • Avoid heavy exercise or activity for 24 hours after your injections
  • Avoid wearing any make up for 12 hours after the treatment

Other than these particular guidelines, you should be able to return to all your normal activities after having dermal filler injections. The dermal filler results are not permanent, so you will need to come back around once a year if you want to keep your face smooth and wrinkle-free.
