Medical Skin Peels
Skin Peels
Skin Peels are experiencing a major growth in popularity with people looking for a deep intensive skin rejuvenation treatment. The Peels target dull and uneven skin tone, acne, fine lines and wrinkles, sun-damage and hyper pigmented skin. Skin Peels fill a gap between a cosmetic facial scrub and an invasive surgical facelift. Facial Peels are increasingly becoming the non-surgical alternative to facelift and are ideal to use supplementary to Microdermabrasion.
Skin Health
Healthy skin is determined by how you care for your skin. Your body has changing needs as it ages, and so does your skin. Regular treatments are great for continuing skin health in addition to being a luxurious experience
Pigmentation Skin Workout
Pigmentation Skin Workout uses active ingredients to lighten the pigmented areas and inhibit reproduction of pigmentation causing enzymes. Pigmented areas of the skin are caused by a number of things including hormones, stress, sun exposure, ageing, sensitivity and trauma. These areas become darker and often unsightly. This workout stops those dark areas from forming.
Lactic Peel
When combined, Glycolic and Lactic Acid work synergistically to exfoliate the skin while reducing irritation and dryness. Much of this is due to Glycolic Acid’s molecular structure. It penetrates quicker and deeper than other AHAs to perform at all levels of the skin. Lactic Acid is an effective yet gentle AHA that increases moisture levels by stimulating the production of Glycosaminoglycans. By accelerating the cell renewal process, stimulating collagen synthesis, and improving elastin fibers in the Dermis, this chemical peel revitalises photo damaged skin and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Our Lactic Peel effectively treats:
- Fine Lines / Wrinkles
- Ageing / Dry Skin
- Photo Damage
- Dehydrated Skin
- Rough / Uneven texture
Unfortunately, you cannot receive a chemical peel treatment if one or more of the following applies to you:
- Use of Accutane or retinoic acid products within the last three months
- Open wounds, cuts, abrasions
- Acne or herpes outbreak
- Plastic surgery procedure within the last three to six months
- Pregnancy
Skin Preparation – as with all peeling agents, patients preparing to undergo a glycolic/lactic acid peel should have their skin primed for at least 2 weeks before the peel. Your choice of products include L-ascorbic acid serums or AHA products. We also recommend using these products in between light chemical peels.
Number of peels required – light chemical peels have the benefit of not causing the patient any down time or irritation. They can achieve the same results as a stronger peel, but to do so will have to be applied in a series. Depending on the condition to be treated and skin type, weekly applications are recommended. A series of six peels will achieve significant skin improvement.
Salicylic [BHA] Peel
This medical strength peel is primarily for those with acne or problematic skin. The active ingredients in this peel work to retexturise the skin while anti-bacterial agents eliminate and prevent acne breakouts.
Combined, Salicylic and Mandelic Acid work synergistically to exfoliate the skin while decongesting pores and reducing irritation. Mandelic Acid’s large molecular structure and even penetration help prevent inflammation and irritation that sometimes occur with AHA use. Salicylic Acid is a lipid soluble BHA that penetrates pores to dissolve Sebum and Cellular debris. By accelerating the cell renewal process, stimulating collegen synthesis and improving elastin fibers in the dermis, this light chemical peel revitalises sensitive skin and helps improve the appearance of problematic skin.
The Salicylic Peel effectively treats the following:
- Problematic skin
- Ageing skin
- Hyperpigmentation
- Sensitive skin
- Photo damaged skin
